Football

Football, known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by advancing a ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using feet to control and strike the ball, although players can use their heads and upper bodies under certain conditions.

The game is played on a rectangular field, called a pitch, which is typically grass or artificial turf, with a goal at each end. A match is played in two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with the team that scores the most goals declared the winner. In the case of a tie, different competitions may employ various methods to determine a winner, such as extra time or penalty shootouts.

Football is governed globally by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), which organizes major international tournaments, such as the FIFA World Cup. The sport is known for its strategic play, teamwork, and skillful techniques. It is one of the most popular sports in the world, with a massive following across different cultures and countries.
