Spanish La Liga

La Liga, officially known as the Primera División, is the top professional football (soccer) division of the Spanish football league system. It is contested by 20 teams, with the season typically running from August to May. Clubs in La Liga compete for the league title, with the team accumulating the most points over the season being crowned champion. The league is one of the most prestigious and competitive in the world, featuring renowned clubs such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atlético Madrid. Teams play a total of 38 matches each season, facing every other team twice, once at home and once away. In addition to the league title, teams also vie for qualification to international tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League, based on their final standings. The structure of La Liga includes a system of promotion and relegation with the Segunda División, allowing teams to move between the two divisions based on their performance each season.
