Fotbal

Fotbal, also known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. It is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score by getting the ball into the opposing team’s goal. Players use their feet, head, and torso to control and strike the ball, but only the goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands and arms within the penalty area.

The game is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Matches are played in two halves, typically lasting 45 minutes each, with a halftime interval. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. In the event of a draw, various tie-breaking formats may apply, such as extra time or penalty shootouts, depending on the competition rules.

Fotbal is one of the most popular sports worldwide, governed internationally by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), which organizes major tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness, making it a beloved pastime and competitive pursuit globally.
