Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football (soccer) leagues in England. It was established in 1992, breaking away from the Football League First Division, and consists of 20 teams that compete against each other annually. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL) Championship. Each season, teams play 38 matches, facing each opponent twice, once at home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion. Points are awarded as three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. The Premier League is known for its high level of competition, attracting some of the best players and clubs in the world, making it one of the most popular and widely viewed sports leagues globally.
